Drinking Coffee, went over to the Bay 11..30 Sunday morning. 1911 metal detectors listed..Number is gradually increasing from 1000 to 1100+ not that long ago.... 535 were auctions....remainder Buy it Now....15 came up as Tesoro metal detectors.....7 were actual toys.(One may not be working)...two coils listed.......Remaining items were scoops, headphones etc. See what you do when the second cup of coffee hasn't kicked in and you don't know one end of a detector from a hole in the ground..There has to be a message in those numbers somewhere...All numbers will tell you something,,,,Have my headphone on,,,,but it is not plugged in...........cordially NAD

My guess is that the numbers of detectors on eBay will go up - because winter is approaching alot of us and some will sell off their detector/detectors in hopes of getting a new one for next season. Steve.

I think Steve is right, as far as it goes.
Also the number of detectors is just plain up, as is the number of dectorists. Do a search for Garretts and see what I mean.
Sadly, the cloistered world of detecting is gone.

But this could be a time to get a good deal, if you are savvy.

You are correct, winters soon approaching and this happens every year and the prices go down vs. summer time. You will see a lot of machines normally not listed.....and could be a good time to buy. A good time to pick up a water machine too.
