dying signals

Just a quick questions for all the MXT users. Sometimes when I'm in the relic mode I get a strong signal for buckles, bullets etc. But after I sweep over the spot several times the good signal disappears and I get the iron signal reading for that spot. Whats happening?

tracking into the target with the MXT's auto ground trac circuit. This should only happen on targets half bar or less as the ground will automatically lock for readings over half bars. When this happens try moving away from the target and sweeping a few times then going back over the first target. It should be back to the normal sound. Also if you make a large enough sweep you should avoid tracking the target out.

Ron,
If they are steady lock on type signals I'm baffled as the MXT is not supposed to track out that type signal. But, if they are the bouncing around iron type falses the machine may be getting a better read on the resweeps and deciding its iron, which it probably is. Dig some and see.
