Dx1 probe Depth:detecting:

jog

New member
Can any body tell me what the average depth of the Dx1 probe is.I'm using a Whites Bullseye pin pointer right now,but it will only give a signal if i have it right on the target. Is this normal:shrug:
Whats the advantage of the Dx1?

The DX-1 should give you about 4 inches in depth plus target ID. It hooks up between the coil you are using and the 1 inch coil of the DX-1 with a selection switch of which coil you want to use, stock or the DX-1 connected to the detectors control box. It is like a 1 inch coil attached to your detector...........which it is.

Do you have to swing the the probe like the detector to get it to work? Or will it work like the pinpointer without having to move it to get a reading. I am thinking about buying a dx-1 as well. thanks!!

The DX1 must be in motion to pick up the object you are looking for. The motion needed is more like a jiggle. You can also use it in the detectors pinpoint mode.

Wouldn't be without it! You will NEVER leave this one behind since it's attached to your machine. It's so light weight, you don't know it's there. It's a "must have" in my book! Yes, it does go close to 4" deep. Great for retrieving an object without scratching it......tells you where it is exactly! When you can't find that tiny object in the grass, the DX-1 will. I have been using a Whites Bullseye and find you have to be just about touching the metal before it will respond. Just got a DX-1 this weekend and took it out. Alls I can say is WOW, great tool. Just wiggle it over were you think your target is. You will hear the change in hum on deep targets and will give a sharp sound for shallow. Do read the instructions carefully. There is a one liner that says

I'm sure you won't be disappointed. In fact, you'll wonder why you didn't get one sooner. Money well spent! JMHO and HH, Nancy

Hi guys another newie to this forum from sunny Queensland in Australia.
Just got my mxt 300 + 5.3 coil a few weeks ago so my garden looks like it's been attacked by
some sort of burrowing animal.I've just ordered a new 10x6 coil and like the sound of a DX-1 probe but need some info on where to get one in Aust or how to get one sent from USA

Hi, and welcome to the forum. The Sunray DX-1 pinpointers are the best!!!! You can find out more and how to get one from the ad right here on the top of the page above the Whites ad. Just click on it and you will get the info you need. I wish you all the luck in detecting and HH, Nancy
