I bought a roll of 1/4" cable wrap from Harbor Freight and put on mine "Just in Case" I happen to get too close with my digger.

I never had a problem with it on my DFX. However, on my SE i had to have it fixed. What seems to be the problem is i take it off and put it on so much during a hunt it keeps getting twisted. This twisting i believe lead to the cable braking near the probe. I wished it came with one of those curled cables.
