hi all, my friend has started using her sun-ray dx1 probe on her DFX and when she switch's to "probe" to locate a find she gets a loud threshold noise coming through, the probe still finds the item and uses another tone for this, but this threshold type noise is annoying and she would like to know if its normal? i certainly don't have it on my minelab probe anyone throw light on this?
cheers

Don't flip the toggle first before you switch to probe. Thats why you get the ear blast. :nopity: I had that happen once. The probe becomes the coil when you flip the switch. If you then push the toggle forward after switching you should be ok. Quite frankly, I seldom toggle forward. I get the same reading on the screen with the probe as I do with the coil. The dfx pinpointing for me is spot on. The toggle only puts you in AM. Hope that helped..Gil
