Went to the Beach yesterday to do some hunting after a couple of days of very hot weather.

Found a total of 41 coins and 1 silver ring with the Minelab Souvereign GT, using the 10 x 12 SEF Coil.

Total of coins was Euro 28,- that is about $ 35.-.

Nice work!....always envy you Canada/Euro/Aussie/Japan detectorists for your high denomination coins. Americans will never significantly utilize our dollar coins until we finally ditch the $1 bill.......which we need to do, regardless of how it may benefit detectorists. Too many Americans see a dollar coin and think, "gee, I'm going to stash this in my dresser drawer...it'll really be worth something someday!!!. Of course 99% of the time, they couldn't be more wrong. Even the uncirculated and proof stuff hot off the presses from the mint rarely ends up being worth anything....and with the quality of the US Mint steadily going down the drain (in my opinion), I've pretty much lost all desire to collect their sets anymore.

Andre, that was a good day for you!

Andy in NWFL, don't envy Canadians! The coins may be higher denomination than in US but are made out of junk so, if you want to dig them, you have to dig all the junk as well!

......and it's certainly a drag that the penny through quarter coins have been mostly steel for some time, but when you've got the large denomination bimetallic coins like the twonie (Canadian $2 coin), the outer ring has recently gone to steel, but the inner is aluminum bronze, so they generally sound off more like good stuff than junk. The perfect disc shape helps as well, which is why so many folks find all the steel variant wedding bands and class rings (stainless, tungsten, etc.) with no problem, with discriminating machines.
