The 1857 quarter is pretty worn and the 1852, 3 cent piece is pitted and stained but they are mine.......
A club member found where a small town used to be in the mid 1800's and was all but gone later in the 1800's but the people who lived there left a few memories for us to find in what is now a bean field.

. I opened up the hole and and the DX-1 said something was in the sidewall at about 4 inches deep. That was the prettiest little silver I ever saw, all black with just the rim all the way around a bright silver. A buddy that was watching me dig it called the silver 3 center because I didn't have a clue, it was too small for a dime.
