Well, it was a little luckier then yesterday's, anyway. Did snag a very stained 58 Rosie right beside a root, almost right off. A soda rub helped it a lot. Also 3 wheats, 1910, 18 and 41. The dice was in a baggie with the blueish button. Ran into tennbach and he dug a hefty ornate buckle that we both are curious about. Terrific weather here right now. About 90 degrees difference then what John is having in his frozen tundra world. Merry Christmas, all. HH jim tn

Thats the ticket! :clapping: though it seems you fellows are picking strays now...need some new grounds huh?

Yeah, the ole woodlands have been plundered pretty good. Know there is a gold coins therem though, and that keeps me going back. But, some greener woods are in order, for sure. HH jim tn

Jim nice going on the Rosie. Those woods look familiar.:detecting: I almost went there today, but the ole home site drew me away.

John, beautiful picture. I'll take our 6" of leaves to punch through rather then all your snow. You and your family have a great holiday. HH jim tn

Nice find on the rosie. Is that an earthworm in the picture with the dime? Sometimes they scare me half to death when the come crawling out like that and I think: Snake...., then thank God it's just an earthworm.

That made me laugh Fongu!

They come boiling up out of the ground when I'm stabbing clad in deep sod! They just come boiling up out of the ground for no apparent reason...I used to carry a baggie and catch all I could for my worm ranch I started back at the house...Yep, I figure I'm running a couple thousand head of earthworms on my little 10x10 worm ranch...gotta get ready for a round up one of these days...I have no plans for them, so I dont know why I catch 'em in the first place, still, I like to sit out on my deck of an evening and watch over my worm ranch, ride fence, play the harmonica, keep an eye out for moles trying to raid my herd, round up strays, till 'em up every once in a while with a potato fork to check on the health of my herd...made myself a little branding iron out of a paperclip, gotta little sign saying "Lazy M Worm Co." hanging over the gate etc...for retirement you know...
Say...I wonder if I can get some sort of Govt property tax advantage since I'm a rancher?

Oh my, I know someone has to much time on their hands dealing with northern tundra. Oh my!:clapping: HH jim tn

Yep, right proud of my worm ranch...running some nice wild range Canadian Crawlers along with some native West Mich leafers...got them all wintered up in the bottom pasture, gotta run out there with some tiny little bales (Nabisco Shredded Wheat) to go out and feed them with...got a set of chaps, boots, even a 10 gallon hat and spurs....well, the hat is actually a 5 gallon ...its a plastic bucket from the Home Depot...set me back a fiver, blaze orange, fits right nice, looks quite stylish I must say, if a fellow is into the steam punk scene...

I am going nuts here!...:puke:

Gotta be at least 10 days without a hunt! Big ice storm going on, slipped, fell and busted my coccyx or some other part of my body going to the post office to mail off Christmas cards this am..musta been fun to watch, I was scooting around like a dog with pinworms right out on the sidewalk it hurt so bad...I'm not one to lose my footing, pretty spry, got to thinking about the less nimble,...so I went on down to the Kay-Roger and did a little trading for a bag of kitty litter and some road salt to take care of my place and the shut-ins on my street...got nothing else to do 'ceptin shut down some non-profitable year end bidness, read the Forums, listen to the President on Cspan and all...seems he's heading his herd off to Hawaii for a few weeks, sure hopes he makes it before the bottom falls out of the trail, feel bad for him and wished I could help, hey, thats what neighbors do right?.. I'm sure he'd do the same for me...seeings how Me and the Missus lost our health insurance back in Sept..due to some sort of clerical error or sumpthin'... sure hope you Southern pardners give us a little fodder to get us through this rough patch...gotta go...a Minibear is running my stock! Dang things climb up on the porch and wipe out my silo of sunflower seeds!...best get out trusty 'Ol Blue, the .17cal crossman and saddle up! Now where did I put my 5 gal blaze orange skypiece?...Crap! its at the door full of kitty litter and salt!
Ranch life is hard!

Your southern pardners will always do their part to help. In fact, you might touch base with Tabman if things get to tough to handle on your ranch during this icy stuff. He is an old Outlaw at heart and thrives on trying conditions and has herded many and all sizes of worms in his day. Now you take care, ya hear. HH jim tn
