Dummy waterproof jack for CTX 3030:help:

Perhaps someone could provide some information if such a thing is available. I do a lot of shallow water lake hunting and I would like to utilize my WM-10 Wireless Module in conjunction with some ear buds I just purchased. I've used my new ear buds with a adapter allowing me to plug the ear buds into the module. They work and sound great, no issues there. And yes, I totally understand both the ear buds and module are not waterproof and I'm willing to take that risk. By not utilizing my waterproof Grey Ghost headphones, my 3030 is also not waterproof. What I'm hoping to find is a dummy waterproof audio jack I can plug into my 3030 thus making it waterproof. Big thanks to everyone for looking and perhaps responding and providing a link. :clapping:

You should already have one:
(read towards the last part about using the screw-in waterproofing plug)

Trojdor, thank for your response. However, I don't believe the"small screw cap is waterproof. I read what you suggested and it states "If the CTX 3030 is being used without the Headphone Module connected, use the small screw cap that is stored in the Headphone Module to protect the waterproof socket from dirt and sand". It mentions "dirt and sand", but does not mention it being waterproof. I've examined the cap closely and there is not any type of rubber o-ring. However, I might be mistaken about it being waterproof. Not sure I want to test it to find out it's not waterproof.

tbw,

The cap seats against the o-ring inside the connector...same as your headphones.

HOWEVER...I agree with you 100% about not 'testing' it.

I wouldn't dunk mine, either.
:)
Good Luck,
mike

You even said it yourself, the headphone socket is waterproof....................... with or without the screw cap to keep dirt and sand out of it.
