and out popped a 1923 Peace Dollar. My first silver dollar ever! Good thing it was early on in the hunt or I wouldn't have bothered with it.

Can signal? Was it so big a signal that u heard it from above the ground? Like when u raise the coil up about three inches or so?

Thanks for the response...I follow you on the wide sound....

I found a Kennedy half (clad 1969) two inches down but on an angle....it registered as a dime on my Exp II. And that wasn't wide at all.

Clear dime signal --- probably why folks didn't dig it.
 
Nice save. At least yours was shallow, the one I dug 22 years ago was 14 inches deep. Was using Fisher 1266-X with a 12 inch HotHead Coil, an it just whispered....nge
