Dug some Gold and Silver

Sven

Well-known member
Went out numerous times the past week to school yards, ball fields, soccer fields, parks...not a lot of luck at any one particular, some were real bummers.
But, overall it all added up in the end.
Best luck came today found one 10kt gold girls promise ring and a sterling silver mask ring. Dog tag.
Here's some pictures of the loot. Along with one Eldorado Denim button I found while using the Eldorado:laugh:

Nice going!:beers: I can't wait till my Eldorado gets back. Tell use about you detector settings and such?

Sven,
Congrats on the gold and silver. Always nice to see how it adds up even though any single hunt may not seem like much. I dump the clad into a container. One hunt's handful of clad isn't much, but after several hunts, the container adds up to some very worthwhile totals.

I like that milk bone tag!!
Cheers,
tvr

Most of the time I hunt in all metal mode and switch to Disc mode to check. Canadian claddage is different from US claddage so it makes
hunting a bit different. Depending upon how I feel, the disc is set at the foil setting or just below nickel. It was set below nickel today and found the thin gold ring
at about 3". Sensitivity I try to max out now, as it will add a couple inches in depth detection. I dig a ton of trash...........
Now on the sandy beaches I will also hunt in all metal and set disc just above where the hair pins are disc out.

Was hunting twice during this Victory Day weekend here in :canadaflag:Canada:canadaflag: and like you did all my hunting in the AM mode via the red pinpointing button on the Vaquero. It is a faster mode and more sensitive and once a target is found I just release the button and I am in discrimination mode for ID ing the target. Our 2 dollar coin, the Toonie, sounds like a flattened pop can and does not discriminate out but over loads so last year, my first year, I never dug them and only got 2 for the whole season, but now I am digging the overloads and have 5 toonies ($2) and 9 loonies ($1) so $19 Canadian dollars already. The comment that the hunts start adding up when put together is true especially when there are $1 and $2 coins.
Sven looks like the AM mode technique is working for you also.
Thanks for sharing
