Dug near a civil war camp in Houston

What does the top of the one look like??

You might try posting these in the Civil War Forum. At first glance I thought they looked like artillery shell fuses.

Do you have any idea from what or for what, they look different from ever-thing I have researched related to artillery fuses on the WEB?

John

I don't what type of shell or cannon ball it's from, there were so many different ones used back then. Bing or Google Civil War fuse hulls.
