Dug my first Merc with my new 70 yesterday

After a few weeks of testing my new 70 and digging lots of clad I finally got my first silver coin! A 1927 Merc, also pulled a 1920 D Wheat and a 1945 D Wheat. I am glad I have been spending days learning all of the nuances of this machine and reading the FAQs on this site......I found all these in an area I had detected before. Will post pics soon :)

Good job. Let's see those pictures.

I was surprised how clean it was, it just popped right out with the plug! I had to shoot a picture on my cell phone and send it to my wife, her response was "wow, one of those pretty dimes with the winged lady!".........which, in my opinion as well the mercs have to be one of the best looking coins of all time. I will do some more hunting today and post pics tonight.

Here is the picture of my first finds with the X-70, I have spent about 12-15 hours total so far with it, and still learning the techniques. Lots of new coins but I have managed to find 4 wheats and a merc (1927)! All of the coins are pretty crusty, just cleaned with soap and water to get the crud off. I think the strangest find besides the merc is the 2000 golden dollar, which the soil has already taken a toll on it!

Is that the coin to the left of the quarters? If so then holy cats.

Congrats on the silver! I have yet to find a dollar coin of any kind. I been hunting 2 years, Beale.
