~Dug my 500th Career Silver~

Saturday I hit a field a mile from my house and I nabbed 3 indians in one hour, called it a day and headed home for some time with the family.

Sunday I met up with BadJim for some door knocking. We hit an old farm on the edge of town, the very first coin I dug was a clad quarter, little did I know this would be my ONE and ONLY clad coin from this whole yard!!!!

The very next signal 2 feet away was a screaming 01-47 at 4" deep. I cut my plug and see a big silver rim! It was a 1917 walker and 1944 merc dime in the same hole. From there I just started getting coins everywhere, another merc, 1911 V nickel, 4 indians, one looked like it got in a fight and lost bad. The cuts on it are old because the green patina and completely inside the cuts. Odd because there wasn't power mowers in 1904....lol.....got bunch of wheats, most are in the teens.

Jim got a walker about 5 minutes after I got mine, 3 indians, and a dozen wheats. And only one clad coin as well

This yard was just awesome, virtually NO clad and ALL OLDIES, dream farm yard.

From there we hit 2 small yards in town, first one was a few wheats and the old toy car. And the second yard was a few wheats, and on the curb strip I dug a 1947 rosie for my 500th career silver!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oddly enough out of those 500 silver coins 378 of them have been found since I got my etrac in march 2010. Now that speaks volumes! Thanks for looking and enjoy the pics!

what a day we had by far my best day ever, always great to hunt with a friend :twodetecting:
absolutely I was as happy you got a walker, as I was when I dug one myself! That is what it is all about, I love seeing my hunting partner get the goods as much as I enjoy digging them my self!

I wish that there was someone in my area who I could go hunting with. I have my friend here with the Garrett AT-Pro but we are always doing something when the other person is free haha. Would also be cool to network with people nearby.

Terry and Jim, Major congrats! You both better pinch each other and make sure your both still alive because I think that yard is what detecting heaven is like:clapping:

Congratulation on the 500th, what an accomplishment, and on a great day of detecting with a friend!!

Randy

Congrats on a great hunt! That was pretty much the ultimate hunt.

Quite an accomlishment Terry! A HUGE Congratulations to ya. Man, wouldn't it be a "HIGH" to find a yard like that again. Might be awhile before that gets topped! Thanks for the pictures.

I have had better yards Neb, but this one is in the top 10 or 15....my best EVER yard had 25 silver, 13 indians, 90+ wheats, 2 cent piece, buffalo's, v nickels, relics and more.....now THAT was a dream yard!!! I hunted it with two buddies and I got 15 of the 25 silvers. I was using my xterra 70 at the time and I know if I went over that yard again with the etrac i would get more stuff

Congrats on your significant milestone. Only 500 more until you catch me:surprised: You know I'm kidding, it's really only 250:yikes:

Outstanding.

Kodos !!!!!

Well done Terry and congrats on the 500th. Keep at it mate and before you know it you will be pulling that in a year, just need that one special spot outside of the square thinking. I must say sometimes the most obvious spots are not hunted for example the place I call the bottomless pit is right in the middle of suburbia.

Wow, what a hunt! Sure beats my last several hunts and quite embarrassingly I might add....lol. Congrats on 500 silvers, quite a feat. Here's to the next 500! HH.

Congrats on # 500!! Looks like someone was trying to cut lady liberty
out of the IH with a pair of shears, and decided to give up..
