Dug a little dirt, dug a little sand...

... isn't life grand? :)

Well, there was something like 275,000 people at the beach yesterday! It was all over the news. They actually had to close access to it because there was no more parking left.

Got there just before sunrise and worked what little was left of the low tide. Boy, is the beach sanded in. There wasn't even a pull tab to be found in the wet sand... So, I headed for the dry sand and was eventually joined by about 6 other MD'rs. Managed some clad but oddly enough there wasn't all that much... There were probably a lot of people swinging last night after the crowd left. I spoke to 2 other guys and they were doing about the same. A little disappointing... Oh well.

Anyway, here's my take for yesterday and today...

20 quarters, 21 dimes, 4 nickels, 40 something pennies and 5 wheaties (the oldest a '37. Also got my first dinkies of the season :) A jet, a cat woman car and a plastic soldier.

...use any discrimination

Actually, that reminds me of a post I read a long time ago. A guy got a MD as a Christmas gift and was dying to try it out but there was a ton of snow outside. So, he told his kids to bury some spoons and forks so he could see if he could find them. Try as he might, he couldn't find any of them. He was so ticked off, he went back to the store to complain about the piece of junk the guy sold him. He told the guy the machine couldn't even find something as big as a spoon. He was really getting into it when his kid interuppted and said, "Dad, we didn't want to lose mom's good stuff, so we buried the plastic ones..."

But I will be hitting the water soon! :)

with the high tides all the people had to crowd onto the street as well as the beach. Good digs!
