I just got my Infinium back from the Garrett hospital. My hunting buddy Scott and myself had this trip planned for quite some time, a water hunt with the two Infiniums. Mine has the 8" mono coil, his has the large "DD" coil. They both performed flawlessly. As you can see, we brought a couple extra detectors along, as you just never know what can happen.

Here are the seven rings (double click for larger pic) found today......all with the Infiniums. There are some other medallions missing that Scott wanted to do some electrolysis with before posting them.

Here is what my eight hour day produced. There really wasn't a whole lot of trash out there, as a lot of it had been removed by other detectorists, or we managed to disc some of it with the Infinium.

Here's yours truly, hunting the dry/wet sand, as the water was a little chilly in the morning. The rings shown above are my take for the day. As the water warmed up, the water was much more tolerable.

Just a great day! ......... Friends, finds and fun!

I found 5 rings myself yesterday in a local freshwater lake. 2 silver and 3 junk + a 14K earring.

I thought I had a good day until I saw your load treasures!!! DRAT - outdone again :)

I bought it used and it couldn't be ground-balanced and constantly chattered like a coil that took on water. Garrett replaced a circuit board and replaced one of the pots. The cost......zero! Great customer service :)

Both were stamped with k's, the 14 k one had the 14 and part of the k worn off but acid tested as 14k. The 10k one had the whole stamp.

I've heard some real good things about the Infiniums. I bumped into a Pirate not long ago and he had a couple of nice rings from a dried out not so producing area. This Pirate swore up and down about the performance of his machine and I'm thinking about picking one up to try. I was told it has a learning curve but is really worth it for the results. What kind of learning curve should I expect before knowing the machine? Also what coils would you recommend for high black sand areas? The last thing is what tricks have you learned in using the Infinium? Anyway sorry for all the questions. Thanks and HH.

Hey John,

The Infinium is great, got one too, with a DD coil. Which coil do you think is better for the beach? Or is it just a matter of comfort? I've been thinking about getting a 8' mono.

Great finds....Ernie
