Duel frequency CZ

How does this work? Both frquencies on all the time or does the machine decide which one to use? I was doing some cold weather testing and found that on a small gold nugget I had to almost touch the coil for it to respond. With one of the frequencies being 15 I thought it would do better than that. I have a CZ-70 and I didn't buy it to go gold prospecting I'm just getting bored waiting for the snow to melt.

Happy Hunting.

Spectrum analyzer output of a CZ20, same as other CZ's.

What is a "small gold nugget"? The size of a BB? Smaller? Fact is that MANY detectors won't hit on something like that. Assuming of course NOTHING notched out, it might. Depends on the size.

I hit some pretty small gold with my CZ-70. Here's one example.

TX coil transmits 5kHz and 15kHz. Signal is amplified then filrated in two independent chanels one for 5kHz and one for 15kHz then synchronous demodularors then filters then clasyfication circ.. so... machine do mot make a choice - it uses both the choice (how many of each take) was made by Dave J. who has designed CZ. By the way in low temp. materials tends to shrink coil is very delicate instrument could be that it suffers of cold a bit. I hope it helps. Good luck:twodetecting:
