Dual Field stopped Working first time out

I took my brand new Dual field out for a spin today and I got a hit right away (first coin), I got a second hit (2nd coin) I am pumped now, I got a third hit (a nail clipper) on the forth hit (within 10 minutes) which was in the water, I dug my first scoop, I then went to pinpoint and the threshold changed to a solid steady beep. The detector now does not detect any metal. What a bummer :angry: . Has anyone ever experienced this?
 
I called White's today and was told to return the unit to the place at which it was purchased for a brand new machine. No questions asked!! Gotta love White's customer service!
 
Good to hear Diga. Even the best of the best can have a hiccup. Pity car manufacturers wouldn't do that....

Our dual field coil filled with water the first time it got more than a foot deep, but it still seems to detect. Going back to whites.

My BHID 300 also got water into the coil Whites has a faulty design whith these coils.I now have a D/F and these also seem to have the same fault going by all the posts on the different forums.

I got my replacement Dual Field and so far no problems. At least Whites has excellent customer service.
