It worked fine yesterday!Got to the beach this morning and turned it on...has a constant tone like doing battery check.Got back home and noticed moisture drops inside.Gasket replaced at beginning of summer!I got it last year from a guy that won it in an MDing competition,It would still be under warranty, but the card was never mailed that I know of.I only paid $300.00 for it so I think it would be worth sending in on my dime for repair.....any info/recommendations as to which repair outlet to send it to...nearest to me would be Va. but am looking for past experience or your recommendations? Thanks

No brainer for this long time Whites user. Send it to Sweet Home, Oregon. Call first for instructions and to discuss warranty coverage. Have your serial # handy. I believe they do the best repairs there. I had my Pi Pro (out of warranty) totally gone through and fitted with the Dual Field coil and the price was under $120.

I would recommend you pop the cover and let it dry out for a couple of days to see if that corrects the problem. If not, then send it in.

I will not be boxing and shipping it out till Monday after I contact Whites....I did remove the cover and wipe it down. The dry pack did feel damp.It looks like it sweated in side more than leaked, but I don't know for sure....there were a couple times I came home after a hunt and rinsed it down,forgot/fell asleep, and it was in the sun for a few hours, but that was not recent.I will leave it opened up in the AC this weekend and see what happens, but that would not be reassuring next time out not knowing if it has a leak or not....Thanks

After taking the circuit board and dry pack out and letting the AC dry it out all day and night the DF is working again:clapping:Thanks for the recommendation Horsesoldier:thumbup:A couple of 3 minute dunk tests in the pool followed by an inspection afterwards, and then a couple hours at the bottom of the pool has reassured me that there is no leak, just a dumb mistake on my part.
I've come to the conclusion that the condensation inside the DF (not seawater) was the result of my leaving it outside in the sun too long....my habit of coming home and rinsing the equipment and forgetting about it will not happen again.:nono:
On another note I got to use my buddy's CZ-20..(still an original)...today to try to locate a man's lucky 43 walker that he lost last week. His recollection as to were it was lost was all over the place with no luck....I did find a Alex and Ani charm, belly button thing,3 earrings and some coin.....nice MD,small coil compared to the 12" DF,but might be on the lookout for a CZ as a second water machine.Going out after dinner with the DF to try again on the falling tide and to just hunt around!!...Thanks all for your help and suggestions!

Yeah I love a happy ending, glad your machine is ok. I used to put some packets of silica gel in my old whites detector. It might help if you find it sweating again....
