Dry Suit

Was just informed that my Bare's dry suit is in the dive shop. Here's a link to the one I'm getting. It's a custom built in red. Ain't no stinking cold air or water stopping me now. Come on Winter.

If it gets you into the water more often then it will pay for itself. You may not get enough finds to pay for it but the extra activity will give you health and mental benefits that can far exceed the initial cost. I hope you post pictures of the finds you are able to locate because of the new suit. 73, Mike.

NO matter the weather now , you can go out just about anytime. Just been able to hit the 30 degrees water and no one else around is worth every Penny. Good Move, GrumpyOman. And, Just a couple good finds it will cover the Price. Do you hunt Lakes, Beach's, Rivers? One little detail on the dry suit, Make sure , if you can, get a pee Value...Also, Pick Up some good moisture wicking Underwear at Walmart this fall,

Good Luck, HH ..

Grumpy, did you have it custom made to your size? Seems it would be very expensive
to do that.Ii bought one and they customized the legs a bit, but still fits like a gunny
sack, so I don't wear it much. Did you get measured for yours?

I got called by Bare itself to tell me how to take the measurments and gave them to the company via phone. It's not custom like a dress suit but the wrist and neck seals are made to fit my size neck and wrists.
I already have smart wool underwear but I'll take a look at Wally's in the fall. I hunt in freshwater only. It's all we have where there are large concetrations of people to 'seed' the area. Tastes a lot better too. I Dive and use an Airline Hookah. Has a 2.5 HP Honda on it that'll run about 11/2 hours on a pint and a half of fuel. I always work shallow water. The only reason for diving is to see what I am digging for. The rocky bottom on some of the lakes is so compact that it's hard to get a scoop into it. I Have a 3-prong gardent hand tool that allows me to move the big rocks away and then I fan the area with a jet of water from my hand.
Didn't get the pee tube. It's a front entry suit so if the urge became critical, I could surface, shall we say, in water just above knee depth and pretend I am in my backyard at night. Heard stories about the tube not remaining attached properly and causing a problem inside the suit. Not so bad in a wet suit but really bad in a dry suit. Got mine from Discount Divers Supply out of Seattle. They are a good bunch of people and carry a lot of used equipment. I'd have gotten a used suit except I kept waiting for one that was front entry that would fit me. Finally I bit the bullett and bought new. Later...Jim
