I have been on such a dearth when it comes to detecting...granted I can't get out as much as I used to but I am crowning myself the CLAD KING cause thats all I get. You guys and your pics of your finds really do inspire me to get out and swing and its alot of what keeps me going. Keep posting and I'll keep swinging and hopefully one day I'll have something to show you guys. Heck I got an IH in change from Lowes the other day and I felt like I hit the jackpot!:lmfao:

Took me ALL WEEK (5-6 hunts) to find the 2 keepers I posted today. I understand the frustration about the slump. I scored a private yesterday and was hopeful but after 3.5hrs and only 1 '55 wheat my hopes vanished and now I'm back looking for a couple crumbs on the public stuff. Keep at it....it can only get better and you KNOW what you'll find if you aren't swinging that thing......

Thanks oneguy..I been swingin since 1970 or so...I'm too stupid to quit but I go out and burn out fast because I have my hopes up. I started when I was 7 when my dad bought me a Heathkit detector and I used to go find arrows on the archery range out in the woods. I still go there and I spend time crying at how much time has passed ......gosh life is short..but detecting makes it longer because I want goodies and cant find em...:|

lmao....you got spoiled back in the early days! I started in '92 and even then silver seemed a little easier. Usually when I get frustrated I either door knock (hate it) or head to the big city for an over-nighter (hate that too) where there are actually some coins to find......

Yea man, I remember easy silver. I have a ton of it but to me, mding is hunting without the mess. I used to travel around and hunt and no one said a word and now I am made to feel like detecting is a crime. Maybe I should get some thicker skin and notworry about people giving me a hard time but I was born to respect people so I just leave....gosh I miss the old days:sad:

You know. We could always "re-bury" our finds. Then in 10 years or so, we won't remember what or where we buried them. It'd be just like starting out all over!

Just make sure you don't re-bury them there hard found silvers where Goes4ever can get at em! :heh:

Hey surfinsafari, i feel your pain. Last time out detecting at one of my most productive parks, i not only didn't find any clad but got totally skunked.
With all the posts lately talking about jewelry thought i'd give it one more try. Spent too much valuable detecting time digging up pull tabs trying to find that elusive gold ring.
I did dig up a couple cool corroded nails. Gonna have them bronzed and mounted!
