DRY SAND HUNTING

John Dryja

New member
What would be the better coil, the10 inch elliptical, or the 11 inch DD, for my gamma 6000, instead of the 8 inch concentric on dry sand?

Thank you

John Dryja

the 10" isn't a whole lot different than the 8". I like my coils to have some significant change between each other to justify them. I'd get the 11"dd personally. way more coverage, better depth. you do lose some disc ability with the bottle caps but sand hunting is typically a scoop all scenario anyway with quick target recovery so I'd opt for more coverage over all else.

i agree with DetectingMO...I use an 11"dd on the sand and everywhere else for that matter, since its the only coil i have, perfect for beach work...bigger and better coverage, since its throwing a rectangle instead of a cone, all the depth you want pretty much.. you can hear a tiny chirp if you just miss a target solid off the side of the coil, and zero in on it...
