Dry day

Ken (Australia)

Hi all, mate and I went out yesterday to a showground in a nearby town to give the Quattro's a run. Although it was a beautiful day we didn't do much good in the coin department. I got 6 x $2 and one penny and he managed 7 x $2 and a halfpenny. I was told today one of the locals has hit it hard over the years. We did get a few signals we couldn't reach, not unless we'd had a pick with us. We haven't had decent rain for that long, the ground is like concrete, especially were a lot of people have been walking and driving over it. Have attached a couple of photos of one our city's water supply dams minus the water. If we don't get heavy winter rain, this time next year we'll be out of water.

Hi Ken,
It's a bit of a worry when you see photos like that. Reminds me of Lake Eildon about 10 years ago, when I could drive over parts of the bed, look up at the old gum trees and observe the swing ropes kids used to jump into the water. Now they're hanging high over nothing but dry sand. And I used to go water sking there (when I was much younger!) Hope the rains come soon for you. Glad to hear you got some goldies though.
