Hi hunters!

What are the best drill bits for stainless steel? I have hard time to drill holes in the scoop.
Thank you.

titanium or carbon steel.

Any Brand name or model numbers? Almost all of them being sold are carbon steel. Mostly last five minutes only. Some - even less. In the ocean of junk it is so difficult to find a quality thing! :throw:

Dewalt makes titanium...gold colored, and i think i goofed it might be cobalt steel...Anyone?

drill slow and keep it lubricated with oil it is no as hard as you think any good bit should work fine I have drilled stainless shafts and it talks some time you may have to sharpen them a few times before you are done.

Hi..... I ordered these. They are very hard! They won't bend at all, just break. I don't know if they will serve you but here's the info as I received it.......good luck:thumbup:

Check this out from Electronic Goldmine. I purchased a set and they seem to work fine.

Item Number : G15421

Unit Price: $9.95

Refer this page to a friend

Detailed Description
Consists of 10 different solid tungsten carbide drill bits made for PC board hole drilling. These came from a PC board manufacturer that closed and may have been resharpened or used drill bits. Each bit has a small collar on it and most have the size marked on it (some sizes may be metric). Bits range from big to 80 (very tiny). All shanks are standard 1/8". These will drill thousands of holes in PC boards, however you should use a drill press as flexing these tiny bits will break them! This is our best assortment- We find these bits very useful when making PC boards here at the Goldmine. G15421

:detecting: When drilling thin stainless (like a sand scoop), you need to plunge drill it. If you drill too slow, the stainless work hardens, gets harder and tougher, then it is very hard to get a hole through it. Use lube also (bacon grease is a good cheap one and stays where you want it). Don't use this method on anything but stainless and it does not work on some very hard stainless. Also a Friend of mine, that makes knives, got a high speed burr at Lowe's that cuts right through hard stainless. He said the clerk told him about it. :tesoro: Inca, Vaquero, Silver Umax
