Dressed in my best metal detecting attire:

I had my Teknetics hat, my Fisher t-shirt, my Tesoro treasure apron, my Minelab digging tool, and my White's hooded sweatshirt on and my trusty ATPro. I headed towards the beach listening to Hank Williams sr, drinking Mtn Dew and chewing on a piece of summer sausage. Gad life doesn't get much better!!!
I have hunted 6 days in a row so thought I would take it easy on my knees and back today and hit the beach.
Good intentions sometimes don't work out. It was so bloody cold down there I could only stay for about an hour.
I tried running Pro zero mode and sensitivity maxed with 35 discrimination setting on iron and iron audio on. (When I think about it I guess I would not be on Zero mode than would I, if I had 35 discrimination??)Isn't Zero mode same as all metal??? Sorry guys for the confusion but welcome to my world... Dug many targets. I knew many were not any good but still dug them. In the picture are just a few examples. The only ones I would have dug were the coins. I can see that it takes some getting use to with operating the AT Pro this way. Many more targets and some falsing. I did switch to Pro coin mode and dropped the sensitivity down 3 bars from max. The ATPro ran the way I like to run, quiet.
It is an easy detector to use but I am finding it is going to take some time to get use to. It speaks a lot different than the detectors that I have used.
Thanks for reading and I hope this is a help to some one???
Happy trails.....Z

I admire your spirit! I like your attitude too! I put my money on you to be part of the top Garrett 10% hunters who get 90% of the the good finds.:beers:

This is cold....

If John climbed Mt. Everest he would detect every step of the way. Then stand his Garrett right next to the flag!

Hey Kenny thanks for your help. You and Bill S with his videos. It is making it much easier to use the AT. I run coin mode and 35 disc. set and iron audio on. When out in the field and I run across a 80 signal in the open (not surrounded by trash)I use the toe/ heel wiggle to eliminate those bottle caps. It works like a champ. Thanks again and Happy Trails....Z

EXACTLY! You have a handle on those caps. Even if you can leave half the caps in the ground you win! Pretty amazing with a DD coil.

Hey John I hope you are right because I have always been in the 95% that never gets it.
I am not very good with cold weather. You must drink a gallon of antifreeze before you go out in -19c.
I just put another blanket on and roll over in bed and go back to sleep.
Happy Trails....Z

And probably complain about the cold and - "The AT Pro meets and beats metal detectors costing twice as much in many instances when it comes to depth, target separation etc......"

A couple of months ago you were hoping for warmer weather. You made it sound like your coil nuts were going to freeze off.
