Dream

Follow your dreams,
for as you dream you shall become.
I quit!!!!!

I don't get the help, the right places , the right detector, or experience. All I wanted to be was a metal detector that was my promise to my self after my operation. I failed me.

Sorry to see you've had what I would imagine a tumor removed... I wish you a speedy and full recovery. Metal detecting is difficult at times; the secret is , tenacity, and I can't say too much about the importance of location, location, location. I can't help but notice how meticulous your yard is; I have a feeling you have a lot to do with that... that is the kind of patience that I talking about. I don't understand why you couldn't find help on metal detecting forums, as detectorists are quiet eager to help others. There are all so metal detecting clubs that might be near you. Most of the brand name detector companies make good detectors; that doesn't mean that ANY detector is best for you, it all depends on what type of items you're looking for, what kind of ground conditions are in your area, weight would be a factor, and coil selection in certain environments. It takes time and tons of practise to get the hang of a detector and really know what's telling you.

For now, it looks like you need to take a break, but you can always dream again tomorrow. But so you'll know: I find a wheelbarrow of junk for every hand full of good finds and I happy with that.

Best wishes

Looks like you've had a very tough time and I wish you the best. Like Vernon said, all you have to do is ask. You ask for advise here and I guarantee that you will get the info to use to start making the finds.

I am sorry to hear that you can't seem to find the help that you need but I believe that you came to the right place. "Our" forum was created especially by our moderator so that people of like minds, humor, and social tolerances could gather and not only discuss metal detecting but just about any thing on ones mind. I am glad that you stopped by and hope that you won't give up just yet. We are certainly an eclectic bunch with a large and diverse collection of real life experiences and metal detector knowledge of just about every make and model you can imagine. Hang around a bit and get used to the personalities involved and ask away concerning the use of metal detectors, locations, history, techniques, whatsits, or how to fix the bathroom toilet. I'm sure that one of us will be able to help you out. From the looks of it, I am hopeing that the worse is behind you and we will certainly give you our 2 cents worth............ sometimes before you even ask for it. Good luck!
