Drats!!! Empty :(

Hi Everyone,
Hit an older part of town today. Got a iffy signal mixed in with some iron. At about 8-9 inches found this coin holder. Didn't know what it was at the time, waited till I got home to wash it up and look inside. Turned out to be a coin holder, but alas it was empty. Oh well, the coin holder is neat in itself. Have to do some more cleaning, it may be silver. Also found the scoop, thought it too was going to be silver. No such luck.
Fun hunt though,
Thanks for looking!

Maybe the coins fell out and are waiting for your coil to find them. Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks ya'll, went back a couple hours later and found a Merc, 3 wheaties. (not near where the coin holder was) and a Model T Ford hub cap. (that makes 6).

The Model T had 6 wheels!!!? Thats a new one on me:rofl:.......nge

Hey bunker! I found my 1st Model T Hubcap this year. A little worse for wear, but the logo is intact. Found the key to one last year too! They are fun to unearth.

Darn! What luck to find an empty coin holder!

Both of the Model T caps I have found have been bent up pretty bad. That one is in nice shape.

So, someone back in the day went through the trouble of putting coins in the coin holder presumably so they wouldn't lose them and they ended up losing the holder? I feel your pain on it being empty, but that is one cool find regardless. I wonder if its silver plated given the green patina on the inside.

It is quite ironic that they lost an empty coin holder.
Nebtrac.. that is a good looking hub cap. Cleaned up nicely.
