Today started off being pretty nice, so I decided to go dig for a while. When I left home it was 45 degrees and sunny, so I started toward a site to try to get permission. About 15 miles away from home, the clouds rolled in and the temp had dropped 11 degrees with a pretty strong north wind, so I turned around and came back home. Then I decided to go back to a permission that Keith and I have hunted to death. Keith had found a sterling trumpet pin, and several Wheaties, I had found two Indian Heads, a Buffalo Nickel, an undated shield Nickel, a Mercury Dime laying on top of the ground and another sticking out of the side of a washout, silver Washington Quarter, both halves of the Farmers Insurance Group license topper (4 months apart and about 100 yards apart)! And lots of junk! This time I decided to try to hunt in the timber bordering the property, which is kinda died down now. So I started swinging between the brush, not too bad. I went in about 20 feet and the first thing I dug was this 1904 Louisiana Purchase Watch Fob, made by the Dr Pepper Company. Dr. Pepper Introduced their soft drink in 1904 to several million people at the World's Fair in St Louis, and gave souvenir watch Fob's away. They were made of brass and silver plated. Most of the plating is still intact on this one. Hunted for another 2 hours without finding anything but junk, but it turned out to be a great day to dig!!! Can't wait until spring!!!

That's one of the coolest fobs I've seen found on this forum. Good job.
Thanks, I'm excited! I love this Hobby!

Congrats on a very nice watch fob!

Howdy timwied--

Watch fobs are my FAVORITE finds! Congratulations on the Dr. Pepper fob. I found one like that a few years ago but mine doesn't have any plating left on it. Best of luck and...

Happy Hunting!
