First thing you got to do is make sure both units are working. Using a fresh set of batteries increases the distance you can find treasure. Some people claim to have dowsed a single gold ring right through a mountain. Amazing things they are. So hold both units in front of you with the coils aimed directly in front of you. Concentrate on what you would like to find. If it's silver, think silver. If its gold, think gold. Now slowly and quietly walk in a straight line.

When you finally walk over the particular treasure you are concentrating about, the two poles will suddenly cross. It can be frightening the very first time it happens, but just relax. The treasure should be directly beneath where the two poles cross.

So, use your Garrett detector to pinpoint the treasure, and using the Garrett detectors should get you dead center of the target. Now....carefully dig out the treasure. In my case, I concentrated on gold, so I was fortunate to dig a gold coin in excellent condition.
