downside of frozen ground hunting

MrGee

New member
Went out for a short while today. It was warmer that yesterday and fairly pleasant out there. However, the ground is still frozen solid and I mangled a penny worse that I ever did before trying to find it and dig it out. Fortunately it was a "spending" penny and not a keeperl....or worse, silver. Think I might ease back on winter hunting again. IS would hate it if I mangled a silver that bad.

It's a real challenge getting those coins out of the frozen soil. I too have bent and halved coins getting them out of the ground. :(

Lousy stinkin', freezin' ground. good for nothing cold, hard, and irritating. HUH. Kinda sounds like my ex.

Were you one of the unfortunate guys who married my ex? Sure sounds like her. At last count she was on her 18th marriage. But I'll have to give her credit, she did marry 3 of the guys twice. No kidding, 18 times! Monty

Well MrGee, Looks like the digging is over for a while, Don't know what part of the state you live in?, we are supposed to get 6" of snow and of course high temps of 15 right after! We had 53 yesterday! Time now to research! HH..C-dog

The downside of frozen ground is you think its safe to sell or trade for a different detector,so while you are waiting for your (new to you detector) to arrive ya go into a detecting funk, while your having a mild spell in the weather. And you can't go detecting because your not rich and only own one detector.:ranting::unsure:
