Downloading E-Trac Programs

unearth

Member
Hello All-
Does the E-Trac have to be plugged into the computer before you can download a program to your computer? I thought you could download a program into a folder and open it later. I loaded the DVD into my computer, saved it to my hard drive, but when I tried to open one of the programs off the thread, I get a pop-up saying windows can't find the program to open the file:shrug:
HH Gary

I think you have to save them to a file name of your choice in like my documents. then you can up load to your etrac cd program and down load to your etrac.then once you have a program on your etrac you can save it back to you etrac exchange program. try that you may have to play with it.I was able to download from my etrac through the etrac exchange program to my documents and you can go back to your etrac program and upload from your documents through etrac program to etrac.I hope that is as clear as mud.

if you were talking about the parks program posted by cbill ,I can't open it either says the file is damaged or sent wrong with a email??? I think the person sharing the pattern must first save it to a file such as my documents and then attach it from there.

Follow the instructions Here. It is really easy. SEE: http://www.mlotv.com/view/373/e-trac-xchange-software/ Copy and Paste to address bar.

I opened the Etrac program and able to view and use the progam. It's the park pattern posted on ML's site.
I had to edit it to pick up nickles. Hadn't saved that mod yet

Too bad I can't download programs, because I have a Mac. Windows Emulator or buying a PC aren't an option. I just want to find a website for e-trac users with the patterns printed out, so I can try different settings. First time e-trac owner with limited knowledge of metal detecting. My only other detector is an antique Garrett Master Hunter 7 bought in the 70's. A little help please.

honestly i have never hooked my etrac up to my computer. not once. i think its a fairly useless feature. (for me...dont mean to come off as being negative) theres nothing you cant just enter directly into your etrac.

I'm sure you'll hear from all the technologists for that comment , but not me---I couldn't agree with you more. I don't even know if I still have that disc thingy or the extension cord anymore.
Just show me a picture of the screen and let me put it in myself , that's probably faster than waiting for the puter to start up. Probably would have knocked a couple hundred off the price as well.!!!

These should get you started,,,
