Downloaded Search Program Mac issue

JCR

New member
I was able to drag and drop the new CTX 3030 update to my CTX, with my Mac, but when I try to drag Search program files it doesn't work. Help

Only the updates will work with Mac. I'm in the same boat. I'm using the computer at my work until minelab goes Mac friendly. I'd also like to see them start implementing apps for my iPad and such.

I think the only thing you can do is look at the pictures of the Xchange 2 screen of programs, then re
make them in Xchange 2.

There is a post on the Minelab Users Forum (CTX 3030) that allows you to vote for a Mac version of XChange2. So far, the vote is overwhelmingly in favor of a Mac version. Please take time to vote.
Thanks,
Chuck

To get the updates to work with a Mac, do you have to have the windows program in your Mac?

Try downloading the new update and saving it to your desktop. Then plug your machine into your computer. The Mac should recognize your machine as a separate hard drive by showing a white drive icon on your desktop and also in your "hard drive" icon. Once you locate your ctx drive icon try dragging your saved download into the ctx icon. Once you've dragged and dropped it into the ctx folder go ahead and "eject" your ctx drive icon and unplug your machine. The machine should then prompt you with a new firmware update message. Follow the machines instructions from there. If that doesn't work then I'm afraid it will have to have a windows slave. Hope it works for you. It worked forme with the first update. I was at work when the second one came out so I just used windows for that one. What a pain!

There's a simple solution for us Mac users. Download VMware Fusion 5, and just run Windows on your Mac. It's nice to have a dual OS laptop for issues like this. :)

You forgot to add that Windows Software needs to be purchased as well!
