Down south park finds.

My buddy Lee and I took off at 5:00 am this morning and headed south to this old park. Not much to show for our efforts, but we still had a good time just getting out. Lee got about 12 wheatie's, no silver and some clad. I got four wheat's the oldest a 1918, 1927, 1946 and a no date. Kind of odd that the 1918 was in better shape than the rest of them. I also got a well worn 1912 S barber dime and dinged it with my knife.....:( It was only about two inches deep and it makes you wonder how it got missed by everyone else knowing this park has been pounded to death. Thank god it wasn't my first seated that I could have dinged!! Thanks for looking and have a safe and wonderful 4th of July to all of you..........:) HH.

I am happy to see that you found yourself a Barber Dime and a few Wheats. I love finding those Dimes and just be thankful that it wasn't the 1913-s instead of the 1912-s you got. Great finds Eddie and Congrat's. Have a great 4th of July and hope to see you post again soon.

Thanks James. The ground was pretty dry at that park and made for tough digging. The first couple of inches were like semi hard cement and that's a good reason I dinged that barber plus I'm trying to keep my plugs around four or five inches. Who would have thought that barber was only two inches down? I know, check my depth meter....:) The wife and I are heading out Thursday morning and heading down to the Seaside Oregon area camping for a week. Maybe I'll find some places to do a little detecting down there......:) HH.

Then it wouldn't be so hard to find spots to go and you may even find a Seated. If you see any older residents, ask them if they know of any old picnic spots or old balldiamonds and such and you may just find yourself with a virgin site. Good Luck Eddie and HH.

I probably should have done a little research, but this will be more of looking around. I did try to find out some information on the area that we will be staying at, but there wasn't a heck of a lot on the internet. I'll do some research when we get there and I will try and chat with some of the old timers.............:) HH.
