Down East Maine Black Sand Concurred.

Black Davy

New member
I hit th' beach in Old Orchard ME last week I only had one hour on one day and two th' next. Th' bilge rats and th' wench get all th' time on vacation. I used th' trusty Infinium for th' heavy black sanded beaches. This was a new learnin' curve for these conditions. At fist I ground balanced th' trusty cutlass but to no avail, some hi false tones to th' left and lo's to th' right, not to fret as I went back to th' slow and lock positions to get th' beauty settled. I then hit th' surf and was experiancin' some false tones, but I did nah feel t'was a issue as a real signal is much differant than a false one. I re-adjusted me coil wire and re-balanced in th' water. This quieted th' land lubber up and I was done for th' day. Me booty was a nickle and a dime and th' scurge was a plenty.

Me next excursion was in th' we hours of th' mornin. I ground balanced and was of some minor false tone and I re adjusted to quiet her down. After a quick search of th' high wet sand I headed a good 1/3 mile yonder down beach to th' pier and encountered a matie who was a scoop dragger, a quick wave of th' cutlass and I was off. I encountered some more false tones around th' pier and decied that I would try a frequency adjustment, I went all th' way around th' knob to no avail and decided I must be on a wreck. I put th' frequency back to th' default settin' and moved off th' scurgin' beach a few feet away I had th' most quiet encounter yet absolute silence. I had to test th' edge of me trusty cutlass with me rin' to make sure t'was ok. I found that maybe I should'a tried this sooner as this was a key to pure bliss. Th' minor tunin' of th' unit made it flawless in th' water and on land, Arrr I should'a tried this sooner. Th' heavy black sands of Down East Maine can reak havick on yer equipment but with some persiverance ye can prevail. Th' booty for two hours was only a dime, nickle and three pennies as most of my time was spent hoofin, and th' scurge was a plenty.

So what did I learn that a frequency adjustment that really was not one as t'was set back to th' default actually made a tremendouse improvement in th' units stability. I had made numerouse threshold and discrimination adjustments along with slow, lock and fast modes, but nothing made the differenace that a shake up of the frequencies did. Once this was accompolished the land lubbing black sands of Down East Maine had been concurred.
