Hunted a cellar hole by a mill site, as usual it was pretty noisy with all the iron. I got a 30 VDI hit that stayed steady and now I know enough about the machine to know when something is good, the VDI locks on or only changes by 2 numbers, depending on the depth and the target. Sure enough, out came this scarf tie (I think) from the 1800's. I then walked down to the mill site by the stream and popped out the '47 Roosie..my first silver coin with the Terra 70.
I continue to be amazed with this machine and it's ability to separate targets and the stability in iron infested sites. I have been switching from Pattern 1 to All Metal around cellar holes. Pattern 1 when close to the hole with a Sens. between 20 and 26 and All Metal further from the hole with a Sens. of 26 on average. I am using 4 tones and liking that feature. I finally replaced the first set of batteries after about 10 hunts. I have no idea of the actual hours, but it was quite a few, many more than I expected.
Enjoying the warm, bug-free weather and no vegetation in the woods...for now! Ron
