Double Snake Ring

Can anybody give some info. on this ring I found with my eleven year old Surfmaster its 18ct.weight 10 grams and the letter is a lower case [h] the down stroke on the h is like a spear or arrow like to know any history on this style ring think its more than one hundred years old??

Perhaps you can go to google or one of the other search engines and type in 'hallmarks' and see what you come up with. I hope this helps you get started learning about your ring. That was a great find...congratulations. HH Jim
 
Here's another url for hallmarks. It looks like a crown and the number 18 stamped in your ring. That would indicate 18 karat gold marked in England. Can't make out the other markings.

Thanks Jim R and others went to one of Jims sites and found out what the hallmarks mean,the crown is England the anchor Birmingham 18k and the letter h for the year the ring was made which turns out to be 1882 looks in perfect condition wonder how long it`s been in the water??

Crown :- Sheffield England should also have a lion passant
Date :- If the letter stamp is Square 1894 -95, if the letter stamp is shield shape 1919-20
 
Thanks for your trouble Jack but its a Birmingham hallmark [anchor] I have dated it 1882.
