"Double Ringer" Afternoon with MXT Pro.... :clapping:

Got off from work at 1pm today. Weather was beautiful in low 70s and sunny. Went hunt an old soccer complex that had 8 fields. It's been used lately for Soccer Playoffs. (Gonna take KC/Floridason here when he comes visit). Concentrated on the player bench areas. Found 2 SILVER RINGS and lots of clad. 925 stamped inside of each ring. Later went to an old ballpark. Found lots of trash, more clad and a 1976 Kennedy Half that was buried deep under a large Pine tree root. I found one token/coin that I have no idea what it is. See photo below as I need help to ID it. Overall I had a good day. The more I get to know my MXT Pro, the more stuff it finds for me. Thanks to all for looking. CCH

Clad Totals: 1 '76 Kennedy Half / 11 Quarters / 20 Dimes / 8 nickels / 30 Lincolns and 1 Unknown Token/Coin that I need help with ???

CCH, I can't help ID, but your finds look great. Can't wait to get out and do it myself!

You do have that MXT Pro working for you. Looks like a fun hunt ... congratulations for the 2 ring finds ... and those half dollars of any variety are getting really hard to come by. The broken coin looks like maybe Chinese.

Glad you got out.
Bob

VERY impressive CCH. What is the little charm type thingy that says "EST. 1977"? Is that silver also? As for your broken object........It's an OLD Chinese coin. Congrats on the bicentennial half. Great find. You are doing phenomenal with that MXT Pro and I love seeing your finds. Even down to the Budweiser bottle cap. :clapping: Thank you! HH, Nancy

Here's a site I've used before to ID Chinese coins. http://www.calgarycoin.com/reference/china/china8.htm#tao%20kuang

Nancy,

With the help of Dave-IL, I think we were able to ID this coin. It appears to be REALLY old. Here's the link. Go down to the 6th coin on this sheet. It is not a video.
Thanks. CCH

That's it CCH. What a keeper. You should mount that keeper in a frame. BIG congratulations.

HH,
Nancy

Nice finds, wish I was having your weather nothing but rain here for the last couple of days and looks like more on the way, may have to see if I can talk the wife into letting head down your way so I can get in some more hunting. Jimmie

How old is that coin ?

You're kidding me, right? 618 - 626 AD Yes, that's the years they were made in. BIG congratulations!

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!! Can't ever imagine how this coin would end up in the middle of a large soccer field in Louisiana in 2011 ? Unreal. Thanks for the info.

CCH.

In early years, carrying an older Chinese coin was like putting a rabbit's foot in your pocket. By the looks of that, it's been in the ground for quite some time. HH, Nancy

Man CCH,
