Double checking on a rumor about hidden fixes on the new 4.0

I recently read a post on the site about 2 fixes Deus made to the new download, I'm not looking to spread a rumor I'm liking the the new 4.0 download . Just seeing if anyone has herd the same ? I figured what better place to find out , thanks and good luck to all !

I truly hope this is true!
I'm having problems with pairing my MI6 pointer,,, so would gladly appreciate a fix!

But surely XP would of advertised this asV4.1?

I went back to using my Garrett instead of the MI-6. Also kept losing pairing in the field and tired of reloading 4.0 and losing custom settings. Seems there have been a couple of updates, and I wonder if that is why the 02 shows on the remote when startup and charging. My ID numbers are higher than they used to be by 2 to 3 numbers. Ex clad dime 88 is now 91 clad cent 81/82 is now 85/86.

Yes I was aware of the post but it was never verified or backed up. All previous versions never showed a code for English. It is not in the manuals and is Bell Two employed by Deus? His response was something he heard. I was hoping someone that really knew would bite on this and settle it.

I checked my settings on ID norm and found that sometime during my reloading 4.0 recently I put it on yes. That is why my numbers jumped up on me.

I haven't loaded V4 as of yet.
I'm waiting for all of you that have to work out the bugs, because I don't know how.
When people quit complaining and start praising more, then it's time for me.
Right now V3.2 is working fine...

Anyway IIRC V4 is set at ID norm ON and you need to turn it off after the reload.

A lot of issues are user headspace and timing. You should see some of the stuff posted on FB groups.

More information is coming soon from XP on this issue and the question on software versions . . . . .as soon as the information is available we will post it here.

I guess that means that if we update to V4.x we have to redo all our custom programs... poop. I wish that there was some way to save them to the computer and then send them back to the controller after the re-install like the Minelab program is.

The information would be most welcome. I suspect folks think that some of my remarks about the pin pointer were a little abrasive or complaining. When I got it, it worked perfect for about a week. I really noticed right off how precise it was and appreciated being able to adjust the sensitivity. Then all of a sudden it stopped communicating with the remote( showing the dedicated screen menu). couldn't get the little melody back, choose the program 7 etc. only a couple of buzzes and it would only work manually. You see when you are wearing headphones and you turn on the pin pointer you expect it to come on in the headphones and on the screen. Did I push the button too long, or not long enough? I really couldn't hear the pin pointer since it is silent until it connects. So remove the headphones to try and hear it better and try to hold it down for 8 seconds to get it to connect. Nothing. That is where I have been on several outings lately and only resource is to reload ver 4.0 to get things working again. Very frustrating when you have laid out almost 200 dollars for a pin pointer. Something I am doing is doing it or something else is. I sincerely wish I could figure it out because I really like it even if it doesn't meet everyone's expectations compared to others out there. Tired of reloading my custom programs too just because the dang pin pointer doesn't have a reset so I can get it back to normal. Removing it from the remote and pairing only works if I can't get it out of the manual mode and get it to pair. The pin pointer by the way has 7 programs. The menu on the remote after pairing only has four programs? Why doesn't the pin pointer have a little window on it so you know what program you are in? For 2 hundred dollars for heaven's sake have a little window to show a single digit number 1 - 7. Hope you can report back with some help because it costs a lot of money for all to have a faulty product out there.

I decided to go sit under the shade tree with my gear and see if I could sort out this MI-6 issue I was experiencing.
I think my problem was with turning off the pin pointer. When turning it on and off press the button from 3 to 5 seconds no longer or it seems, at least on mine to change program or something and I get a little beep or chirp and the screen goes off also the MI-6 into wherever and doesn't come back on in wireless mode. Sometimes I had to remove it twice to get it to the point where it would again pair. So I came to the conclusion that is the reset for the pin pointer. On occasion I noticed I would also lose the coil pairing as well, but just reselected it and got it back. I feel confident now after practicing going through the steps, that if I get another case of the dumba $$ in the field I can get through it.

Gary Blackwell confirmed on his XP Forum With this answer!

Yes that confirms the language is in English

Great that answers that. Seems kinda redundant tho they feel the need to put a code for English when it is so obvious it is, and they make updates and not show them. Go figure.
