Don't you hate when this happens?

I bust my hump detecting every chance I get hoping to find something awesome, many times with nothing good to show for my efforts.

Well my mother, who is in her 70's just returned from Europe. She told me she was standing in front of an old church in the Netherlands and she looked down and found this coin. I did some research and the coin is from the time of King Phillip of Spain's conquest of Holland. It was minted around 1574!!! Some people have all the luck.

I can only find one reference on the internet, but in the words of Dr. Evil, "I don't speak freaky deaky Dutch", so I don't know what it says. I am sending the link & a drawing of a similar coin on the site in case someone does.

That's an awesome looking coin. She sure is lucky. You should take her out for a hunt......you never know what she might find. :)
