Don't ya just hate Friday the 13th!!! My Vibraprobe 560 died, Tim Russert died, what a bummin' day!!!

Come to Iowa and enjoy our weather!

Hey Randy, I hope you are on high ground. I imagine there are a lot displaced people from all that flooding and a lot of property damage.Things like this kind of remind us there are others with bigger problems than what we may be facing in our personal lives, hope things get better soon for your State.

WoW!!! That last pic is awesome. Thank God I live in the mountains of Southwest Virginia.....TomB

That is a very spectacular photo of the power of nature. I hope nobody got hurt.
Was that close to where you live Randy? the tornadoes that you guys have been hit with over the last couple of weeks have been on our news as well Iowa was also mentioned to be suffering from them.

The pic on the right was taken about 6 miles north of my brother's house (last week). The flooding pics were from the terrible flooding in NE Iowa. The last pic was reportedly taken at Orchard, Iowa on June 10. There has been some question as to whether it was a tornado or what is known as a rotaqting mesocyclone with a wall cloud. Regardless, it must have been one scary encounter.

Personally, we've managed to "dodge the bullet" here where I live. (on a hill in SW Iowa) I can't say that for the farmers in the area, those in low lying areas, or those young Boy Scouts who perished last Wednesday in that tornado a couple hours north of here. Over the years, I've been "in" three tornadoes. And I can honestly say that I don't ever care to go through another.

My daughter and her family live in NE Iowa (flooding pics) and the conditions in that part of the State are unbelievable. There was a tornado that hit a NE Iowa community about 3 weeks ago, wiping out 1/3 of the town and killing several. Many of the survivors who lost their homes were relocated to a nearby community. Unfortunately, some of those have now been evacuated again, due to the floods. Power stations flooded, water mains washed out, gas lines broken, telvevision stations evacuated, telephone terminals underwater and streets and bridges completely washed out. The good news is that her familiy is safe and the flood waters are receding. The bad news is that those living downstream will be dealing with them for days to come.

Thanks for thinking of us here in the MidWest. HH Randy

I heard about the kids being killed. Very sad. Those storms can be quite unnerving. I got caught in a micoburst while in the car here in Dubbo 3 years back.
It's good that your family is OK. Flood waters aren't the best company if your house is low lying.
Mick Evans.

Yeah I know what you mean about Tim Russert. He was mandatory viewing in our household. Man, I couldn't imagine what we would do if we were flooded out. But, we are AMERICANS we will recover.
