The Sovereign forum is not going away. It might go to its own forum away from the Excalibur depending on Minelab

I am so glad the Sov forum is staying. I have used a Sov for many years and found thousands of coins with it. As parts went bad I just replaced them. I am on my 3rd coil (they do wear out) and am looking for another meter. The production of the Sov has not declined. As I have used it and learned it I have only found more. Due to the parts replacements I have named it Sovereignstein. Ugly but very strong. Eventually I may get a CTX, but I will always have my Sov.
Keep up the good work!

Any advertiser controls what and where he wants to advertise. They are our forums but if you are selling a banner to a buyer he would for sure have the right to want a forum for current models and not mixed with a discontinued model if he so desires.

Not sure where you are coming up with the right and content statement but I'm not going to debate it with you. It's just business sense. We just indicated we'd continue the forum for Sovereigns just because it's been a very popular machine and has been satisfying users for years. That doesn't shake out to Minelab owning the forums.

As far as marketing your comment is a statement and is merely your opinion on marketing and pricing. I happen to disagree with you but once again we're not going to debate it. I think discontinued models start to lose their value. It might not happen in a moment but it will eventually do just that.

I will take issue with one comment on salt water. I was hunting with my Excal on the Gulf coast and had my just released Explorer with me. I had hunted a small area waiting for my partner to come back from being out much deeper and when he didn't come back right away I started carefully hunting with the Explorer and found a ton of small things the Excal seemed to have missed in that little area. Of course I may not be as skilled as you but I never forgot that and always wondered why they didn't throw the new circuitry in the Excal. Being from the midwest I sure never worried much about it again.

That being said I know quite a few water hunters that still prefer the Excal to the CTX. I also know that Joe at Demarco Sales thinks the CTX when set up correctly really rules the salt water. You might want to talk to him. He's a beach hunter.

Guvner..

The CTX might be the more versatile but I don't believe there is any detector that really rules the saltwater,... My opinion.

This forum is free for me, the sponsors pay, what more could one want...My opinion again.....

Wow.. Get some thicker skin there... First off the post was to AustinEd and not you. You were spoiling for a fight above and it looks like you went at it on the wrong post in your efforts to start one. I'm all yours if you need it..

AustinEd said... Sovereignstein.. (One would think it was a take off on on Frankenstein..)

So I made a joke about drawing some stitches to fit the Frankenstein image...

Now I'm making fun of you for taking offense to it at all especially when it didn't concern you one bit... Just having fun and admiring Austin's name before that..

"Disrespecting"... One of my least favorite words... Figures you'd be using it...

 much happier now . Jim

Oh OK, I did not understand. I tried to figure out the stiches thing and now I understand. Happy Halloween!

I here you Joe.... the CTX is a great ML accomplishment, but on the beach i still think the jury is out. Im not convenced anything complicated is needed or will do a better job on the beach or is going to be a selling point. This may be the way things are going..... one machine trying to do it all. What have we learned about that?

And it was pointed out to me that you said we edit posts and do all kinds of evil things over here we just don't do. In fact I give my moderators the keys for the most part and don't check on them constantly for some sort of imperial dynasty of power that I read I have over there. Funny stuff. Mostly the guys who have been kicked off are my biggest detractors and I usually have a pile of stuff they ignored before they were sent away... but you can believe what you want...

Good suggestion, but unfortunatley it already looks that way. Sovereignstein has very much earned its name. But it keeps on finding the goodies. :detecting:
