Don't waist your money for batteries ( F75 )....

Take advantage that the F75 uses unly 4 AA batteries. Use rechargeables !!! They can be used without losing performance.

I use a smart charger that charges 4 AAs in 90 minutes and keeps them cool. Has a discharge feature too. Check it out:

This charger won't overcharge your batteies, recharge them even when not empty.

If you use the new rayovac HYBRID NIMH's they don't self-discharge fast anymore. The self-discharge only to 85 % in six month. Buy them at walmart (they have them).

Some guys look for the best deal when they buy a detector but waist the money on alkalines later.

... but after using the F75 for two weeks now, it still has full bars for the battery usage.

I bought the batteries and charger at walmart. Charges 4 batteries in 15 minutes. It also has a car adapter to take it with you on the road. I bought 8 batteries and it had 4 that came with it. So I would have to be gone a long time to ever need batteries, and then I could recharge them in the truck.

are hard on the batteries. The batteries get really hot and that shortens life. Well.... better that alkalines.

The charger in the link of my post has been tested und it was the only charger that was fast and keep the heat down.
Well as long as your charger and batteries work fine...use it.

I bought a charger that charges alkaline batteries. 2A, 3A, D & C size. Not 9 volt. I didn't know there was such an animal. It works very well. The instructions say the more often an alkaline battery is charged the better. I bought it at a thrift store for $5.00.

i heard complains that the batteries started to leak.
I though I'm better of with batteries that meant to be charged (NIMH).

HH,
Andy

My F75 first set of alkalines seemed to last forever.....
(Even with the backing glow everyone was worried about).
I like this system far better than 9 volts...
