hello everybody, its times like these that i think back to what got me into this hobby to begin with. the reasons for it havent changed at all and probably never will. you just dont know what yourre going to find, no matter where your geographic location is. ive been pleasantly surprised many times with what ive found as well as what everybody else in our hobby has found. i know that anything is possible and have never stopped believing in that. your next good beep could be an excellent retirement fund in the making. its important to keep an open mind and to expect the unexpected. i feel that the very moment you tell yourself "its not there" or "its not around here" or "i will never find it" then youve done a great job of setting yourself up for failure... when i saw a 11 yr. old kid pull a morgan dollar out of the ground on his first swings, it only reinforced this belief. hoards are found nearly every day that would make a king jealous. you can believe me my friend when i tell you theres plenty out there, just waiting to be found. ive never gone home empty handed after a hunt. just my two cents worth, thanks for reading, and hh,

Thank You Gray Ghost for such a beautiful heart warming post . You are a
true inspiration to those of us facing another few months of bad weather or to the
newbies just starting out. Cant wait to get back out there.

Gray Ghost,I guess the things that keep me in this hobby is the thrill of the hunt, finding the unexpected,a nice day in a park with a soft breeze coming from the lake while searching for old coins.Several years ago when I was a full time student I took a stress management class. The instructor would always start off imagine yourself lying on the beach with the palm trees swaying on a sunny day etc. What could be more relaxing searching for coins in a postcard park or beach. The best part you never get bored digging up those old silver coins lost a hundred years ago or that nice piece of jewelry.
