Don't lose your pinpointer

Here's a picture of what I've done since I've managed to lose a pinpointer. I used a coiled key chain cord with a plastic fast snap that hooks on your belt or belt loop. You can forget to pick your pointer up, drop it etc. and it'll still be with you.

Great idea. Thanks.

Garrett Pro Pointer !!

The clip on my cord I use is metal. I never have to remember to turn my Garrett off because if I forget it goes off on the clip

Thats a big reason I use Sun-Ray in-line probes on both my detectors. I may use that set-up on my 'guest' rig. I've got 2 hand held pin pointers and I want to keep it that way. HH. Matt

One of the things I didn't like about the Sunray probes was I'd forget to throw the switch back and be hunting for several minutes wondering why I'm not hearing any targets.

I still find it hard to understand how anyone can lose their pin pointer. I always have to quit the hunt with one last dig, even if it is trash, so my PP will always be packed in the car, or I will look for it pronto. How do you guys lose yours? martin

It's easy and I can show you if you loan me yours.

That's a good Ideal!

I left mine behind once in a huge grassy field, but after a lengthy search I finally recovered it.

I promptly added lots of bright tape and bought a back-up, because I ain't hunting without a ProPointer. Period :)

Some of it may be due to Senior moments, but I've managed to do it all, or most of it anyway. Had one pinpointer fall from my pouch in extremely heavy grass and by the time I realized it, I was well away from the area. When I looked, I couldn't find it. I've walked back to the last target area many a time to retrieve it and I've forgotten to switch my Sunray back to the detector on my MXT lots of times as well. I've developed better habits which help quite a bit, but I'll leave the cord on my pin pointers for sure.
