Alot of times I try to post a pic and it says it's to large or can only be so big.

I use photobucket to host some of my pics, but here I can upload direct from My Photos which are in My Documents.

How can I make the pictures smaller?..

I should know this by now, but I don't......

Thanks in Advance,
Ned

There are several software you can use to resize the photo smaller.

Now there 2 sizes to a photo .. one is the actual image size in pixel and other is the filesize in kilobytes.

Now if you need to make an image smaller in size then you can go to website like http://www.image4u.org/imageed/index.php and upload your photo to it then resize the image and save it back to your harddrive.

Or

If you prefer to do it locally on your own computer then you will need to download a image software to install on your computer and use it to resize the image smaller. Software such as Irfanview link at http://www.irfanview.com/ but any photo software should be able to offer you the option to resize the image it loaded into just have to find it in the setting somewhere.

Now to keep the image size intact but to make the filesize smaller then you would use any image software and resave the image with less graphic quaity in jpg format that your filesize will be smaller than the oringal size but the smaller filesize you go the worse image quaity it will get. You can probably save it about at 70 to 80 and still have a small filesize and acceptable quaity image. You can again use software like Irfanview to resave the image with lesser quaity.

If you are using a certain photo software then post it in here and maybe someone here know something about that software and can tell you how to resave the image in different sizes.
