Went to a slew where folks go to fish for cats and pike. There's a long narrow dirt road with turn outs. Started working on the turn outs, digging nothing but pennys, 60 of um all clad. Then I thought I'd go right up the center, I popped two clad dimes and 3 more penneys. I was about 20' from the car and got another hit it was bouncing between penny and dime at 5" went to 90* to the left side and it stayed on dime. So I dug the rascal and out popped a 1942 Merc. in very good condition!!! :yikes: My First silver coin!! I Danced a right fine jig, if I do say so myself! Perhaps not as fine a jig as when I got my first nugget, but close!!!
Anyway it's a 1942-W, what's the W stand for?

Hey Dang, Thanks ol buddy for leaving me a dime!!! I owe ya one!!
