Don, I lost internet service for a couple of days...

Sorry I was unable to respond to your post. Don, my suggestion for an 8 year old with a good drawing ability would be to get him some QUALITY colored pencils. Not the cheap kind of colored pencils that hardly leave any color after pressing down with 110 psi of pressure. And I would get him a couple of, basic drawing books of the type of things he likes to draw... whether it be wildlife, or cars, or Vargas girls. Paints are fun, but at 8 years old, they make more of a mess than they do anything else. Since he likes to draw, colored pencils is like painting with a pencil. And with the mixing of various colors together, some pretty neat artwork can be achieved with practice. I wouldn't start painting seriously until he's at least 10, 12 years old. Think happy little trees.... or Vargas girls.

Cool! Thanks for the info. Is there a certain brand that you would recommend? Website to order from? He likes to draw just about anything. Lately he's been drawing dragons and not Vargas girls
Thanks for your help!
