Well have a T-2 coming and just have to wait for the Fedex truck..Downloaded a manual and perused it and actually appears to be a user friendly unit when compared to the DFX or Explorer..Had to smile as some names have been changed, threshold is now Hum level, sem-auto is now fast grab. and detuning is narrowing it down. One wonders if these aforementioned names are patented. In any case once I get in the field plan to experiment and give the forum my thoughts on this unit and how it works at least in my neck of the woods..Started out with a Big bud pro and over the years have used many units and will be interesting how it stands up to other top of the line models. I believe the Big Bud pro was named detector of the the year in 1987 and feel surely this Teknetics will live up to its name of producing a quality detector...

and im still lookin for a t2 myself, can u drop me a e-mail when your done with it in a week?
thanks!

had a t2 for a couple days at the beach on loan, i really like the machine, well balanced, even better than the little u-max, even though its a little heavier than the tesoros. i ground balanced it on the wet sand with ease, and it worked beautiful, i wish i could say i dug some gold, but this is a regularly hunted beach and targets were a little scarce, but i did manage to get a good amount of coins. the t2 is much easier to operate than the more complex whites dfx or xlt. it is also a hot machine and will air test with the best of them, i did dig a couple of coins deeper than 8", it is a little hard to be accurate in the dry sand. it is important to give the manual a good read beforehand, but the learning curve is
very easy, i give it a thumbs up, i wish i had the cash to get one, but i'm a little short, and have too many machines as it is. hh, bob n.

Certainly been a trip trying a bunch...this is probably a keeper.. A lightweight ID unit that can be used for clad in parks or deepies with Tekentics quality seems to fit the bill. Surely no perfect detector or poster for that matter but I try to ad my opinions and if it only helps one person its worth it..and that of course is up to the reader to read or not....If your post was sarcastic so be it, if not good luck finding a T-2...Don't know how many were sold to this point but used ones for sale are far and few between..

We can read all the post on the forums and try to understand what a detector is all about, but Dan you sound like me that I have to try it for myself to see how it will work for me. I can tell you my likes and dislikes about the T-2, but it is best for you to form your own opinions and when you post your findings I can see if they are close to mine or if you see something I don't.
My T-2 has found a gold ring now and other keepers, went in for the upgrades and now found a walking lib half and a Wheaties plus the normal new coins in a ares that has been pounded to death by others. I just got back with my Sovereign GT where I took the T-2 a week ago and got 9 Wheaties with it, but today with the Sovereign I only got 1 which surprised me it didn't see more as you know how I like my Sovereigns and how well they do for me.
Now comes the tough part as I may be selling my T-2 as I have 4 of the top of the line detectors and cant use them all, so I know I want my Explorer XS2 and my Sovereign GT for my coin hunting and have a X-Terra 70 and the T-2 and trying to decide which one or both to sell as I just cant get out as much as I like too and hate to leave them just sit where someone could be finding some great finds with them.

Wish you luck Dan and waiting to see what you think of the T-2.

Rick

i heard you can never have TOO-MANY detectors
used the same machine on loan-found 9 nickels in record time
some other clad-took little while to center target accurately-
was at to semi-older schools-30+ coins no silver/gold
maybe next time!
