DOH!New Gray Ghost Deepwoods!

After years of using cheap headphones I finally broke down and bought a pair of Gray Ghost Deepwood headphones (I chose the deepwoods because I tend to be hard on equipment).I plugged them into my eagle IIsl and hit a feild beside my house where I had found a sheild nickle but not much else.Within thirty minutes I found one 58cal minnie and two smaller solid bullets. These are the first relics I have ever found in this feild! I only regret that I hadn't invested in a good pair of headphones sooner. They really do make a huge difference!DBULL

Good headphones certainly make a big difference in the quality of the signals.
Like you I just invested in Sun Ray Pro Golds for this comming season.
If your going to put the effort in detecting a person might as well get the best there is.

Cheep -V - Quality
If you are serious about detecting, yes there is a difference. Yea you will see someone that says that the cheep ones are just the same -- Nope! Why spend good money for a nice detector and defeat it's purpose on the other end.
Cheap's are for back up.
I have a set of Grey Ghost Black Widows and love them. I have 5 sets of headphones and I only use my GGBY.
They do fit tight on the head but you get use to them, however if they don't fit snug around the ears you will get a lot of ambient noise from your surroundings. I can use mine on the beach with the waves and wind and can hear the faint signals.
Yes i did Grinch when i bought mine because of the cost but now I am glad i have them.

I agree, the better headphones do make a difference. I've found that I prefer the sound quality of the better phones over the cheapies even on the loud, clear signals. I can't say for sure whether I'd have missed any of the "iffy" signals I've dug if I'd been wearing the cheapies, because I was wearing the better phones.
