Dogtown, Gloucester, MA

Hello Fellow Detectorists,

I recently purchased a Tesoro Cibola and I'm interested in hunting for relics from colonial times in and around the MA area. The first place I've heard of is Dogtown, a ghost town near Gloucester, MA.

Has anyone been there and should I expect to find some decent items? I'm not searching for any huge caches, just buttons, a few coins, etc. Since I'm a novice I've been thinking about holding off on a trip to this area until I have some more experience. Is it a place where a rookie can get some good practice and perhaps locate a few nice relics?

Best Regards,

NJM

You may or may not get the kind of response your looking for on these forums. This is something I learned the hard way. Researching good locations for historical relics is hard work and sometimes (understandably) folks are somewhat reluctant to simply give it away. Good luck and happy researching.
